Tirupati Sri Kondandarama Swamyvarla Teppotsavam is a famous festival that is celebrated every year at the Sri Kondandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. The festival is also known as the Float Festival or Theppotsavam. During the festival, the temple priests take the idols of Sri Kondandarama Swamy, his consort Sita Devi, and his brother Lakshmana in a beautifully decorated boat, which is taken around the temple tank. The boat is adorned with colorful flowers and lights, and the entire atmosphere is filled with devotion, music, and joy.
The festival is celebrated for nine days, starting on the full moon day of the Telugu month of Phalguna, which falls in April. On the final day of the festival, which is also known as the Chariot Festival, the idols of Sri Kondandarama Swamy, Sita Devi, and Lakshmana are taken out in a procession on a beautifully decorated chariot. The procession passes through the streets of Tirupati, and devotees from all over the country come to witness the grandeur of the festival and seek the blessings of Sri Kondandarama Swamy.
